Don't be afraid to cook Korean at home. If I, a Southern gal, can do it, lord knows what you could accomplish. Remember no daughter will cook like her Mother or Grandmother, but will develop their own style. I say go for it. Your children will thank you later. My kids can't go more than a few days with their Kimchee fix.
I learned to cook Korean food from my "Shi Omoni " ( Mother-in-law) and in my opinion one of the best cookbooks on the market called GROWING UP IN A KOREAN KITCHEN by Hee Soo Shin Heppinstall.
We once attended a large Korean picnic and was amused to see our kids were the only ones lined up at the Korean feast while the Korean kids were lined up at the American food table.
