They might be Giants...

Colchicum_giant

I made my first foray into the world of colchicums a couple of weeks ago, encouraged and inspired by
Kathy Purdy at Cold Climate Gardening, the guru of all things colchicum. I planted a sampler of colchicum bulbs hardy to this region, of which the first to bloom was Colchicum 'The Giant'. Or at least that's how it was labeled. But it looks like 'The Giant' may have a few "identical cousins". Whatever its name, and wherever it came from, I'm glad to have it, and all its close and distant relatives, in my garden.

Wow. Just: wow!!!

It is so hard to get that color right when photographing colchicums! But your 'The Giant' appears to be different than my 'The Giant.' What passes for a stem (actually the perianth tube) on yours is a nice purply pink, whereas on mine it is yellowy-green. I like yours better.
